Concert Bamboo Quenacho

All the flutes for sale on Original Artisan operate at high levels and these Walata flutes are no exception.

These Walata bamboo quenacho flutes are thicker, more rustic and slightly harder to play than other types of bamboo quenacho. Suitable for the more experienced quena player, this Walata flute produces a more solid, sweeter sound than many of it's rivals.

Utilising skill and technique from a more experienced level to achieve new heights of play, the advanced flutist will gain a greater sense of pleasure from playing this flute than other more easily mastered flutes.

These bamboo quenachos are unvarnished and have a beautifully rugged, rustic type look and a real sense of beauty about them.

These were created by a professional Bolivian luthier, centered in the heart of La Paz who is also a highly skilled musician. Like most of our other artisans, this luthier has been making and playing these instruments in South America for many years.

Concert tuned to the scale of Re Major (D) / Si minor (Bm).

Measuring 19.75 inches long and 1.75 inches wide, each quenacho flute has it's own unique characteristics, showing differences in colour, grain and dressing.
