Description

Kala’s KA-BASS-4 Metal Silver Plated Round Wound UBass strings are a firm favorite among bass ukulele players that prefer the familiar feel of metal strings. Available in 4 and 5 string sets, this unique set is constructed of a nylon core with silver-plated windings.

Silverplated round wound strings provide that warm booming tone the U-BASS is known for. These strings are specifically constructed for the Kala U-BASS to provide the player with extreme playability and accurate intonation, however they can also be used on other appropriate bass ukuleles with similar specifications to the Kala UBASS. Please see notes below.

The KA-BASS-4 set has a lower tension compared to traditionally built bass strings, giving them a great feel whilst being easy on the fingers.

IMPORTANT : Please Read the notes below before purchasing this string set for your Kala U-BASS or consult an experienced instrument technician to check if these strings are appropriate for your bass ukulele.

Please Note:
These strings are only compatible with Acoustic-Electric U-BASS instruments.
NOT to be used on Solid Body U-BASS
Modifications to the nut slots and string holes by an experienced instrument technician may be required.
For those with polyurethane string U-BASS setups, the instrument will need a new, compatible nut to accommodate these strings. Kala Metal Round Wound U-Bass Strings have a lower gauge that is too thin for the nut slots on a U-BASS pre-fitted for Polyurethane strings. This can cause buzzing on open string notes. It is recommended that a nut designed for round wound strings is used. The U-BASS TUSQ Nut – 4 String (Round Wound Version) and the U-BASS TUSQ Nut – 5 String (Round Wound Version) can be purchased from the Kalabrand website for this purpose.
For best results, a nut swap should always be performed by an experienced instrument technician.
Due to the change to a higher tension as well, a truss rod adjustment is also recommended.
Modifications to U-BASS performed by the user will void the manufacturer warranty.
Please also note that Kala and Original Artisan will not be responsible for damage to instruments caused by new string installments.
