Now designed in four degrees of tension to include flamenco – light, normal, superior and extra (extra tension is for flamenco only). Alchemia Trebles are made using a recently discovered Italian blend of a plastic material derived from sugar-cane and a certain percentage of Nylgut.
The sound of these strings is clearly bright like Fluorocarbon strings, clean and prompt.
The strings have an excellent vibrato and a remarkable timbre variation when moving the right-hand from near to the bridge to over the sound hole. In other words, in their extremes they provide all the sweetness and melodiousness of gut together with the brightness and promptness typical of Fluorocarbon.
Another characteristic property is sustain, which by scientific measurements has been proven to be superior to any other type of string currently available in the market.
Another measured feature is the sound power. Our scientific tests have shown that it is superior to Fluorocarbon strings, but it is lower than the projection given by the Sugar set. Although the surface is extremely smooth, the grip on the fingers is remarkable. In other words it is never slippery.
